Wrote my undergraduate dissertation on transformation in Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace

Independent social media consulting, currently working with an Exeter social enterprise for ethical fashion

Communications Assistant for IGNITE, Exeter University's Entrepreneur Support Unit, helping to promote 8 events, create content for press and internal networks, and support student entrepreneurs

Selected to be mentored by a Microsoft employee as part of the six-month University of Exeter Career Mentor Scheme

2014

Founded The Life CV, an online guide to starting creative projects to build skills and experience

Selected for IT's not just for the boys!, a TARGETjobs event for women in tech at Bloomberg's London HQ

Social media volunteer for London+Acumen, London’s volunteer-led chapter of Acumen. Responsible for promoting the social enterprise PITCH competition, among other events, to startups, investors and influencers on Twitter.

Social Media Intern between October-December for Exeter University's Heritage Collections

Implemented a social media marketing campaign for the 2014 Funraisers Dragon Boat Festival, a two-day event with over 4000 spectators which raised approximately £90,000 for 50 charities

Wrote an article on the value of coding skills for The Guardian, communicating with UK-based tech firms and non-profits as part of my research

Created for the first time a social media marketing strategy for Funraisers Dragon Boat Festival, using Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and Facebook to increase awareness of the charity event

Spent three busy weeks on the family farm at lambing time, overseeing a lambing shed with 800 sheep

Attended the closing event for Google TechAbility 2013-14 at Google London, during which I attended a talk on creativity in business, networked with Googlers and other participants, and received career advice

 

2013

Selected to be mentored by a Google marketing employee for 12 weeks, allowing me to increase my marketing and entrepreneurial knowledge and develop my personal projects

Participated in Google TechAbility 2013-4, attending an event at Google Paris during which I met Googlers, took part in a business challenge to design an app in a team of five, and received employability advice

Created and responsible for implementing a marketing and copywriting strategy for Tripobox, a Barcelona-based travel startup

2012

Participated in NaNoWriMo 2012, a challenge to complete a novel during the month of November, for which I used a trip to St Ives as my starting point


2011

Translated León Felipe's Ganarás la luz to English for the first time to increase awareness of the poet


2010

Achieved the 'v50' award for 50 hours of volunteering, mentoring a dyslexic student with reading and writing

Achieved the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award, redesigning the local youth club garden as voluntary work and participating in a three day expedition across the South Downs


2009

Raised £2500 to travel to Malawi, climb Mount Mulanje and volunteer in a community school

Achieved the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, volunteering in a local veterinary surgery for three months and participating in a two day expedition around the Ashdown Forest area


2006
